Position Summary

Primary Position Duties
  • Ability to lead, organize and direct projects to obtain efficient mechanical and plumbing solutions for clients.
  • Lead the department via project staffing assignments of Mechanical PE’s and EIT’s/Designers to execute projects.
  • Lead department meetings
  • Direct the development of and enforce department standards (calculation, design, drafting, specification, etc.).
  • Ability to direct Revit, BIM 360 and AutoCAD drafting.
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams (project manager, architect, structural engineer, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, port engineer, civil engineer, etc.)
  • Support multiple projects with various deadlines simultaneously.
  • Leads hiring and firing decisions.
  • Ability to train younger staff in best industry mechanical and plumbing practices and design standards.
  • Communicate as needed with contractors
  • Perform design calculations in support of staff completing HVAC and plumbing design projects.
  • Edit specifications to support staff who will incorporate edits within masterspec, ms word, or federal UFC / VA specifications.
  • Conduct mechanical and plumbing system inspections, perform root cause analysis, and draft initial recommendations
 
Education
BS Mechanical Engineering
PE registration within the United States, capable of obtaining additional registration in other states as requested within 6 months of hire as directed by management.
 
Position Requirements
  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • PE registration within the United States, capable of obtaining additional registration in other states as requested within 6 months of hire as directed by management.
  • 10+ years exp in HVAC
  • 3+ years exp in Plumbing Design (sanitary, supply and medical gasses)
  • Experience developing processes and standards
  • Comfortable developing price proposals
  • AutoCAD drafting experience
  • REVIT experience
  • Experience with vertical building design
  • Experience providing HVAC and Plumbing design for architectural building design clients
  • Be proficient in written and oral communication in English
 
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Pre-employment Drug Test and Background Check
  • Valid Driver’s License
