Our Miami office focus on building engineering, building waterproofing, structural integrity and threshold inspection.  Come join our multi-disciplined team of architects and engineers, you will be performing and managing threshold inspection work with a proven team.

As the Field Structural Engineer & Threshold Inspector Manager  you would partner with our Engineering Director and Operations Director to develop the Threshold Inspection Dept which will lead and expand our current team of  engineers and designers.  The Field Structural engineer portion of the position will assist our design engineering team in obtaining field data on existing buildings during our renovation design work and would assist the team by performing QA/QC during project construction.  The Field Structural Engineer & Threshold Inspector Manager   would work to support and be responsible to the Engineering Director who manages the various engineering disciplines at Raymond Engineering while growing the Miami Fl departments personnel, capabilities and project portfolio.

The Field Structural Engineer & Threshold Inspector Manager  will manage project staffing, department processes, project execution and deliverables while performing their own inspection and QA/QC work:
 
  1. FSE & TI Manager would manage and support all Raymond structural field operations and threshold inspection projects via:
    1. Review Workload report and work with Discipline Director to equalize workload.
    2. Leading dept meetings.
    3. Communicating with Project Managers as needed.
    4. Performing field data gathering
    5. Performing field work
    6. Performing Threshold Inspection and other Florida Building Inspections
  2. FSE & TI Manager would establish department processes with the Engineering Director.
  3. FSE & TI Manager will assist with interviewing, hiring, reviewing and discipline of structural threshold inspection staff.
  4. FSE & TI Manager will be responsible to the Engineering Director in their support of the Operations Director.
Primary Position Duties
Perform threshold inspections
Perform Florida condominium and other structural life safety inspections
Assist with building code research and grow to be able to prepare threshold inspection plans on your own.
Meet with code review and permitting review agencies as needed.
Perform site visits, and some travel.
Communicate with local engineering team members to assist them with field work and field data gathering needed for their designs.
Ability to assist others with building roof and wall structure enclosure engineering designs and problem resolution.
Collaborate with project teams across company offices, working with our diverse staff and a variety of clients.
Performing construction QA/QC, writing reports and communicating with clients and contractors regarding project status.
Growing to be the responsible Registered Engineer and Threshold Inspector in charge of a group of inspector team members.
Communicate with Engineering Director and Local business development leader regarding working together to generate a growth plan.

Education or Skills
BS Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering

Position Requirements
Authorized to work in the United States
Pre-employment Drug Test and Background Check
Valid Driver’s License
10+ years exp in engineering projects in a consulting firm
6+ years exp in performing threshold inspections.
2+ years (preferred) in project management and development/oversight of staff.
Experience developing processes and standards
Comfortable developing price proposals
PE registration within the United States and the State of Florida
State of Florida Speical Inspector (Threshold Inspection) License
Experience with vertical building design
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Be proficient in written and oral communication in English
Ability to travel within the southeast USA and nationally to go on job sites and ability to go on to US military and other Govt. sites.
Experience with the Florida Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC360-16, TMS and NDS, etc..
Experience with Florida product approvals.
Not required but helpful to have AutoCAD and Revit Exposure.
Self disciplined, hard working, customer service oriented and ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.
Ability and desire to learn and expand ones professional skills
