New Port Richey Legal Assistant / Paralegal

We are seeking a Legal Assistant/ Paralegal to join our New Port Richey office.

Primary Position Duties:

 
  • Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research and initial case assessments
  • Draft pleadings, motions and appellate documents and file them with the court
  • Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc.)
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
  • Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Assist with case management
 

Position Requirements:


Candidate must be proficient with Outlook, Outlook Calendar, Excel and Word. Candidate must be detail oriented and be able to work independently and together by communicating with other paralegals and attorneys and follow their directions.

Education or Skills:

 
  • Associate Degree, preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe DC
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, office equipment, cloud and internet-based software
  • Have the ability to juggle many tasks and clients, have strong organizational skills; be able to follow instructions, switch tasks quickly and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Be a go getter that likes to get things done. Be able to think on your feet and problem solve.
  • Professional, positive and personable attitude and appearance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including phone calls to clients, adjusters, medical offices, and other professionals.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Follow up skills
  • Ability to keep client and firm information confidential
  • Proficiency with legal administration and writing
