Position Summary: Under the direction of the Marketing Director, assists with developing, maintaining, and promoting effective relationships between Foot and Ankle Surgical Associates and local businesses, referral sources & community groups. Duties can include developing and implementing community outreach programs including social & community awareness incentives, creating programs that promote the organization’s image in a positive and community-oriented way, setting up internal events, fairs and other community events to incorporate the organization into the community. It is also the duty of the PRA to accurately track the response of their efforts through spreadsheets & graphs to be reviewed with marketing manager monthly. When an organization has events on a regular basis, the success of the events depends on the promotional efforts of the PRA. This can include finding businesses willing to sponsor these events as a part of their community outreach program, writing news releases to promote the event, convincing local journalists and other media sources to cover the event and doing anything else needed to inform and involve the community and make the event a success. Public Relations Assistant focus’ on raising pubic awareness of the organization and its work. Building on FASA’s current marketing strategy which is based on cultivating long-term relationships with nursing homes, doctors, hospital case managers and other people in a position to refer people to the practice. The PRA is responsible for keeping in touch with all practice contacts on an ongoing basis to ensure that referrals continued to come in.

Primary Position Duties:

  • Attend community events and health fairs 

  • Assist with event planning and execution 

  • Plan & execute weekly referral source gifts 

  • Visit & keep detailed stat record of referral sources weekly 

  • Research new referral sources weekly; Community partnerships, referring providers, events & community activities 

  • Schedule luncheons and meetings for FASA providers to meet with referral sources 

  • Reach out to media contacts and the public to publicize events or products 

  • Track, archive, and analyze all marketing efforts performed 

  • Update and maintain calendar of events 

  • Assist marketing director with additional tasks as needed 

  • Performs others related duties as assigned by management  
     

    Position Type and expected Hours of Work: 

    This is a full-time position. The days and hours of work may vary. Occasionally travels to other offices and events. Shifts and schedules can change based on the needs of the clinic.

Education or Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 

  • Public Relations or Marketing Experience preferred
